February 2025 Updates

AELAS Early Access

The successor to EVLaS is finally ready for more widespread testing.
Boasting a bunch of revolutionary features such as

  • Realistically simulated orbits for the sun, moons and stars
  • Seasonal day length variations
  • Vastly improved direct and volumetric lighting synchronization
  • A novel dynamic ambient lighting fix

And to round it all off a deep and well-documented configuration file for you to dive into.
Learn more about all of its features and where to get it on the project page or documentation.

KreatE/KonsumE - Update 1.3.2

  • Added compatibility for AELAS’ dynamic DALC fix
  • Fixed initial rotation of shader particles being ignored inside of presets

ENB Extender - Update 1.3

  • Added automatic Time of Day functionality (requires AELAS to work).
This will populate ENB’s time of day fields with values computed from the current climate to always keep it in sync with the rest of the game.

Silent Horizons 2 - Update 1.7.2

  • Enabled automatic Time of Day handling by default

AELAS - Update 1.1

  • Night sky sources can now add their own lighting color or completely replace it.
By default, both moons will give of red lighting while the sky itself uses the usual weather color.
Which means no more “bleeding” of weather (sunrise, sunset or night) colors into the moonlight.
Read the docs to find out how to customize it yourself.
  • Improved night sky source priority.
Ordering is now entirely decided by which source has the highest intensity (this computation includes per-phase intensity for each moon).
  • Improved moonlight fading to be smoother and more predictable
  • Fixed negative numbers not being parsed correctly from the config

AELAS - Update 1.1.1

Fixed moon fading not working correctly in certain scenarios

AELAS - Update 1.2

Fixed and reworked the simulation calendar to be fully customizable.
You can now freely choose the year length, start and solstice dates.
Details have been added to the docs

AELAS - Update 1.3

  • Sunrise/-set lengths are now tied to the simulation instead of being extrapolated from the current climate, they’re dynamically changed with the orbit and seasons.
This can go as far as having no real night during the summer or the opposite during the winter. Allowing the replication of real-life phenomena such as “white nights”.
Now the entire time point system of both the game and ENB (if ENB Extender is set up correctly) is fully dependent on and synced with the sun path.
The twilight angle (and therefore sunrise/-set duration) can be adjusted via the config.
  • Added a separate volumetric intensity parameter for auroras.
AELAS now disables volumetric lighting by default if the night sky source is neither a moon nor aurora.
This can be freely adjusted in the config.
  • Improved time point accuracy by accounting for approximated atmospheric refraction and sun size during sunrise/-set
  • Improved sun declination accuracy between equinoxes and solstices

ENB Extender - Update 1.3.1:

  • Added alternative auto time of day mode that uses the sun opacity instead of position
  • Added offset parameters for auto sunrise/-set
  • Fixed overlays not re-applying correctly when saving without applying/loading
