Notes on compatibility
Certain mods are either incompatible or need to be configured correctly to work properly alongside AELAS
- EVLaS (incompatible): AELAS is the successor to EVLaS and effectively replaces it.
- Moons and Stars (incompatible): Changes of this mod conflict with AELAS on a fundamental level, as they’re both fixing the same things completely differently. Use either one or the other.
- Twilight (incompatible): AELAS expects to have full control over the engine’s exterior lighting to achieve its effects. This mod interferes with that during both sunrises and sunsets.
- Shadow Boost (partial): This mod can reduce the draw distance of shadow SIGNIFICANTLY, creating an ugly “shadow circle” around the player during times of long shadows.
ENB
By default, AELAS will disable two of its components when ENB is detected.
The first is sun size compensation, as the scaling interferes with ENB’s sky and shouldn’t be needed if procedural sun is in use (which most presets (should) already do).
The second feature is time point adjustments for varying day lengths. To get this to work alongside ENB, make sure you have ENB Extender 1.3 or newer installed and its auto time of day feature enabled.
Instructions on how to enable it in your ENB.
Note: If you’re using SH2 1.7.2 or newer, you can skip these steps, as it’s already enabled by default.
- Open the ENB GUI and scroll to the TIMEOFDAY section.
- You should see a toggle for “Auto Time of Day” there. Enable it if it isn’t already.
- Your time of day fields should now be greyed out and handled automatically.
- Save your changes and restart the game for your changes to take effect.
KreatE
In short, if you have the latest KreatE version installed (which you should), you’re good to go.
In detail: KreatE already includes a pre-computed version of the DALC fix for individual weathers once enabled.
This fix is now skipped automatically when AELAS is detected.
Allowing you to still use KreatE’s recommended way of ambient lighting tweaking while providing full
compatibility with the new dynamic fix.
